Vision and Mission

Department of Anatomical Pathology

Anatomical pathology is a medical specialist who deals with the diagnosis of disease based on microscopic and molecular examination of organs, tissues and cells. Doctors who practice pathology are trained in anatomical pathology, diagnosis of disease through laboratory analysis of body fluids. Pathological anatomy of disease and obtaining clinically useful information through tissue and cell examination, which generally involves gross and microscopic visual examination of the tissue, with special staining and immunohistochemistry used to visualize specialized proteins and other substances on and around cells. Today, anatomical pathologists are beginning to use molecular biology to obtain additional clinical information from the same specimen.

In Indonesia, the number of anatomical pathology doctors is not large, only around 610 people, not comparable to the number of government hospitals spread across Indonesia which reaches 2,800 hospitals.

Education in the Specialist Study Program (Sp1) of Anatomic Pathology Undip FK lasts for 8 semesters with the title of Anatomic Pathology Specialist (Sp.PA).

The Sp1 Study Program of Anatomic Pathology FK Undip is accredited A based on the decision of LAM-PTKes No. 0310/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Spe/V/2018.

Organizing quality and superior quality and competitive Anatomic Pathology specialist education programs at the national and or international level.

Conducting research that produces publications, intellectual property rights, books, policies and technologies of Anatomic Pathology that are effective and efficient by prioritizing specific advantages both at the national and or international levels, especially in the field of oncology.

Organizing community service that can produce effective and efficient publications, intellectual property rights, books, policies and Anatomic Pathology technology in order to improve public health status by prioritizing local culture and resources, especially in the field of oncology.

Organizing an efficient, accountable, transparent and fair management of educational programs for specialist doctors in Anatomic Pathology.

PURPOSE

Produce graduates who specialize in Anatomic Pathology who are excellent and communicative, professional, leadership, entrepreneurship, critical thinking and become agents of change.

Produce graduates who specialize in Anatomic Pathology who are able to compete in the world of work at national and or international levels.

Develop, implement and produce research in the field of innovative Anatomic Pathology and provide solutions to public health problems, the medical and health industries that contribute to the national interest based on Undip characteristics, as well as national and or international scientific publications.

Implement the results of research and community service in the field of Anatomic Pathology to improve the degree of public health and the progress of the nation, as well as develop the spirit and application of entrepreneurship supported by an integrated information system.

Develop professionalism, capability, accountability for good faculty governance and increase independence in the administration of the Anatomic Pathology study program as well as being a role model for other medical education programs specializing in Anatomic Pathology at other medical faculties.
