ANATOMY PATHOLOGY STUDY CURRICULUM

The Anatomic Pathology Curriculum of Undip Medical Faculty contains guidelines on competencies and learning standards that are the basis for evaluating students of the Anatomic Pathology study program. This curriculum was created as a guide for the implementation of Anatomic Pathology specialization education for both students and educational implementers and also for all parties related to the implementation of this education.

 


 

In accordance with the Chancellor’s Decree Number 2425/UN7.P/HK/2020, the number of mandatory credits is 105 credits and the study period that must be taken is 8 semesters.

Competence of graduates

After completing their studies students will be able to: :

Applying the professional ethics of Pathology Specialist Doctors in carrying out their duties or responsibilities as Pathology Specialists.

2

Take an active role in developing medical science, especially in the field of Anatomic Pathology through the writing of scientific papers that are presented or published from research results.

3

Establish a diagnosis of Anatomic Pathology, both routine histopathologic, frozen and cytopathological sections of the material or organs being examined.

4

Determine the cause of death of the patient by performing an autopsy.

5

Manage a pathology diagnostic center in designing, implementing and supervising activities in each unit.

6

Take an active role in the hospital medical team as a specialist in anatomic pathology in patient management.

7

Acting as manager of a center for diagnosis of anatomic pathology.

8

Act as a teacher and mentor in the field of anatomic pathology.

The stages of education to achieve competence as a Specialist in Anatomic Pathology consists of 3 stages

Stage I/ Initial stage/ Debriefing

1

Is a PPDS PA Semester 1 and 2 participants who are able to carry out all medical practices as carried out by general practitioners.

2

Studying the basic processes of morphological changes in tissue and observing/training some of the SPPA medical practices under the guidance of DSPA.

3

Lectures and discussions of semester 1 courses.

4

Presentation and discussion of pathobiological science and basic organ pathology with designated supervisors.

5

Practicum of basic and advanced anatomical pathology laboratory techniques, as well as experimental pathology.

6

Basic autopsy engineering internship in the forensic department.

7

Writing scientific papers in the form of a literature review of anatomical pathology.Writing scientific papers in the form of a literature review of anatomical pathology.

After being declared complete by the education center, they are registered to take the Theory National Examination (Unas Phase I) which is carried out by the PA Collegium

 Stage II/ Internship Stage

1

Is a PPDS PA Semester 3, 4 and 5 participants who are able to carry out most of the SPPA medical practices with conditions under the guidance and responsibilities of the authorized DSPA.

2

Internship activities in cutting/grossing and frozen cutting rooms.

3

Diagnostic internship activities according to organ module rotation.

4

Daily case discussion reading assignments, difficult cases and teaching sets with related supervisors.

5

Assignment as a community service.

6

Pap smear and FNAB examination.

7

Making scientific papers in the form of case reports and retrospective studies presented at scientific meetings.

8

Presentation of case reports in the form of case reports and retrospective studies presented at national/international scientific meetings.

9

Writing research proposals presented at scientific meetings.

Authority:

After being declared completed/passed by the Education Center, they are sent to take the National Diagnostic Ability Examination (UNAS Phase II) organized by the PA Collegium.

Stage III/Independent Stage

Is a PPDS semester 6 and 7 who is able to carry out all SpPA medical practices as carried out by SpPA doctors under the guidance of DSPA.

Self-diagnostic activities with DPJP supervision.

Practice FNAB independently.

Assignment as community service and person in charge of CPC.

Research activities and thesis writing which are then presented in closed exams or open exams.

Writing manuscripts for scientific publications published in accredited national/international journals.

Describe macroscopic abnormalities and diagnose microscopically.

Perform macroscopic examinations, take samples, read and diagnose cases and discuss with supervisors.

Prepare and study cases to be discussed and present in clinicopathology/CPC discussion forums and actively participate in discussions.

Perform cytopathological examinations and diagnoses as well as perform clinical autopsies and compile autopsy reports under the guidance of the authorized DSPA.

6

After being declared passed by the Education Center, they are sent to take the Final/Professional National Examination (UNAS Phase III) which is carried out by the PA Collegium
