Anatomical pathology is a medical specialist who deals with the diagnosis of disease based on microscopic and molecular examination of organs, tissues and cells. Doctors who practice pathology are trained in anatomical pathology, diagnosis of disease through laboratory analysis of body fluids. Pathological anatomy of disease and obtaining clinically useful information through tissue and cell examination, which generally involves gross and microscopic visual examination of the tissue, with special staining and immunohistochemistry used to visualize specialized proteins and other substances on and around cells. Today, anatomical pathologists are beginning to use molecular biology to obtain additional clinical information from the same specimen.In Indonesia, the number of anatomical pathology doctors is not large, only around 610 people, not comparable to the number of government hospitals spread across Indonesia which reaches 2,800 hospitals.Education in the Specialist Study Program (Sp1) of Anatomic Pathology Undip FK lasts for 8 semesters with the title of Anatomic Pathology Specialist (Sp.PA).The Sp1 Study Program of Anatomic Pathology FK Undip is accredited A based on the decision of LAM-PTKes No. 0310/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Spe/V/2018. |
